A poet-for-hire service called “Ode to You” in which I interview you about a loved one of your choosing (the Honoree), spend a few days crafting a free verse (flowing, typically non-rhyming) poem using the information you share, incorporate you into the editing process, and provide you with digital copies of the final draft of the poem to do with as you wish.

Please look at the sample poems in the photos for this service, as well as my other poetry found in the Scribblings section of this website, before purchasing the service in order to see if my writing style is a good fit for you, your loved one, and the relationship you have. My style is often characterized by various plays on words, alliteration, metaphors and similes, and symbolic imagery. I will not employ explicit language or deeply intimate romantic/sexual imagery.

My aim in providing this service is to offer encapsulations of someone loved and the beautifully, humanly individual connections between souls. The interview process can be emotional for some people, and I don’t want to take that lightly. I consider it an honor to receive a glimpse of the bond between you and your loved one and to attempt to capture some of the magic of that connection, to build a small memorial to that love. I know I can’t perfectly portray something so deep, but such meaningful things as our relationships are worth the attempt, I believe.
